Religion can be used positively in politics, if according to Gandhiji, it is guided by ethics of religion. Every religion has certain ethical values which needs to be imbibed in politics.People should be able to voice their needs and interests as a religious community. The political leaders also should regulate the religion to ensure that it is not used for discrimination and oppression. No religious demand or interest should be raised if it is against any other religion. Religion should be for the good of the people and not to arouse feelings of distrust and suspicion. Religion is a guide to politics and not a weapon to use in politics.
