Vegetation can be classified as:
  1. Forests: forests are the tall trees growing on large land areas supporting variable flora and fauna. They grow where temperature and rainfall are plentiful to support tree cover. Depending upon these factors, dense and open forests are grown. forests are classified as;
    1. Evergreen forests
    2. Tropical Deciduous Forests
    3. Temperate Evergreen forests
    4. Temperate Deciduous Forests
    5. Mediterranean Vegetation
    6. Coniferous Forests
​2. Grasslands: Grasslands are the land area having tall grasses nearly 1 to 2 m tall. They grow in the region of moderate rain. Grasslands are further classified as;
  1. Tropical grasslands
  2. Temperate grasslands.
3. Shrubs: Shrubs are small plants reaching up to a height of 2 to 3 feet. Thorny shrubs and scrubs are the shrubs that grow in dry region. The vegetation cover is scarce because of scanty rain and scorching heat. Thorny bushes are classified as shrubs.
