The large parts of subcontinents remained outside the control of Delhi Sultans because:
a. As it became difficult for Delhi Sultans to establish control over distant provinces like Bengal, from their capital Delhi.
b. It became difficult to control the Southern region as a result, there was a rise of many independent kingdom in the South.
c. Delhi sultans also could not control thick forested areas of the Gangetic plains.
d. In many of these ares local chiefs were powerful.
