If we try to trace the origin of gender roles, we can go back to the early stages of human evolution. It was during these times that men used to go out for hunting and women used to stay back at home to take care of children. Progeny and the ability to reproduce kept women indoors. However, situations have now changed with technological advancement. Women can now afford to move out and work too. However, the societal norms once set in the past still continues to influence the thoughts of all.
