1) About 600 people were secretly picked up by US forces from all over the world and put in a prison in Guantanamo Bay, an area near Cuba, fully controlled by American Navy
2) The American government said that they were enemies of US and linked them to the attack on New York on 11th September 2001.
3) Families of prisoners, media or even US representatives were not allowed to meet these prisoners. The US army arrested them, interrogated them, and decided whether to keep them there in that prison or not.
4) Moreover, there was no trial before any magistrate in US. None of these prisoners could approach courts in their own country.
5) This was against human rights as US government tortured them and an international human rights organisation has collected information about the condition of prisoners which proved that US government has violated the laws
