How do antigens and antibodies react during blood transfusion? Why is O- universal donor and AB+ universal recipient?

For blood transfusion antigens, should be same otherwise antibodies in receivers blood will attack antigens of donors blood, RBC will clog and severe reaction will arise in receiver’s body.
O has no antigens so it is universal donor.
AB has no antibodies so it is universal acceptor.
