How do mitochondria, smooth endoplasmic reticulum, and the cytoskeleton cooperate in the contraction of a muscle cell?
Mitochondria provides ATP required in the contraction of muscles. Endoplasmic reticulum of muscle cells is known as sarcoplasmic reticulum which provides calcium ions for contraction and last, the cytoskelton which consists of myofilaments. These are long and arranged parallely to form muscle fibre.
