Question

how do trees survive when they have fedd all their leaves during dry season when trees don't have any leaves ?

Open in App
Solution

Trees survive through cold weather by shedding of leaves. They can survive even after shedding all of there leaves as they have enough of stored food to carry out their metabolic functions for the entire winter season. Such trees undergo a period of dormancy where the growth is restricted but the metabolic functions necessary for survival continue.
