Solution

A stethoscope is a medical device used to listen sounds from inside the body. On one end is a diaphragm which is placed against the body. When heart beats it vibrates the diaphragm which amplifies this sound. This is then carried through a long ear tube which splits into two ear pieces for the doctor to hear the amplified vibrations.
