Question

how does a solenoid work under the applications of magnetic effect of electric current?

Open in App
Solution

Solenoid is a wire loop wounded in the form of a cylinder.

When current passes through the wire loops, then each loop independently follows ampere circuital law and a magnetic field is produced around it. The net magnetic field coming out of all the loops takes a fixed direction which is coming out from the one end of the loop and entering into the other. This resembles with that of a bar magnet.

This is how a solenoid works under the application of magnetic effect of electric current.
