how does a sound wave look like ?
Sound is a form of energy that is produced when an object or a membrane vibrates to and fro about a mean position. Therefore, we can produce a sound by producing vibrations in an object.
Sound is produced when an object vibrates. The vibrating object sets the particles present around it into vibrations. These particles tend to displace the neighbouring particles and come back to their previous positions. As a result, the neighbouring particles are set into vibrations. This process of displacing the neighbouring particles continues. Hence, the sound in the form of vibration moves forward in all directions from its source.
