Adrenaline is known as the emergency hormone because it is released by the adrenal glands under the conditions of stress or excitement. This hormone is also a part of the body’s stress response called the fight or flight response. It acts by increasing alertness, pupilary dilation, piloerection (raising of hair), Increasing heart beat, respiration rate, Stimulating the breakdown of glucose, lipids and proteins.
