Question

HOW DOES BLACK SMITH CHANGE A PIECE OF IRON INTO DIFFRENT TOOLS

Open in App
Solution

A Blacksmith uses a hammer, chisel and hole punches to reshape a piece of iron. The reshaping is done while the iron is red hot, which makes if softer and easier to mould into desired shape. Hammer blows force movement of iron crystals into different arrangements. If it's hot enough then the strain developed by hammering the iron crystals is relieved by re-crystallization.
