how does combustion of fuels cause global warming?
Combustion of different kinds of fuels yields different kinds of greenhouse gases which contribute to global warming. Burning of liquid hydrocarbon fuels leads to emission of a significant amount of CO2, while burning biofuels releases a lot of methane(CH4). Both these gases absorb infrared radiation from the sun and emit it back upon the earth. This causes a rise in temperatures on the Earth and hence causes global warming.
