how does decrease in the binding affinity of haemoglobin help in altitude sickness?
Altitude sickness is a headache and fatigue that a person feel at high altitudes due to low partial pressure of oxygen there. Low oxygen results in these symptoms. Already the oxygen pressure is low at high altitudes if hemoglobin is also not able to bind with oxygen this will increase the deficit of oxygen even more (all parts of the body are not getting proper oxygen to get energy) that result in high levels of altitude sickness.
