Question

How does diaphragm help in inspiration?

Open in App
Solution

Diaphragm is a sheet of muscle in our body and contraction and relaxation of its muscles lead to the increase and decrease of the chest volume which aids in inspiration and expiration. During inspiration, the diaphragm contracts and becomes flat thus increasing the size of our chest so that it can easily accomodate the expansion of lungs due to the air inhaled.
