Question

how does human foetus derive nutrition?

Open in App
Solution

Human foetus derives nutrition from mother through a particular organ called as ‘placenta’ which is connected to the mother body by a chord like structure called as umbilical chord. Placenta consists of blood vessels which transfer nutrients and gases like oxygen from mother’s blood to foetus and excretory material from foetus to mother.
