There are two types of ozone layer that affect us or our whole ecosystem.
Ozone in the upper layer of atmosphere (stratosphere) is called good ozone. It is a protective layer of molecules, each containing three atoms of oxygen (O3). It protects us from harmful ultraviolet radiations. Depletion of this ozone layer can lead to skin cancer, cataract, eye cancer, reduction in plant growth, decrease in the productivity of crops, etc
Ozone in the lower layer of atmosphere (troposphere) is called bad ozone. It is formed as a result of various human activities. It is a poisonous gas that has a harmful effect on the respiratory system of animals. It also causes greenhouse effect.
