Question

how does particles of matter are affected with increasing or reducing pressure on the matter at given temperature?

Open in App
Solution

We know that, PV = Nk T where, N = no. of particles and k = Boltzman's constant.

So, at a given constant temperature, N is directly proportional to PV.

Now, we know as if T =constant then PV= Constant and so,

P is inversely proportional to V and so,if pressure is reduced, volume will increase with increasing no. of particles and vice -versa..
