How does submerged aquatic plants get CO2 and O2?

Open in App
Solution

Submerged plants basically need carbon dioxide externally which they get from the surrounding water which contains dissloved gases. Carbon dioxide is present in water from fish respiration and breakdown of substances. The oxygen requirement is met with the amount released during photosynthesis by the plant itself.
