How does the collector current in a junction transistor, if the base region has larger width?

Solution

The collector current will decrease.
If the width of the base region be increased the electrons will get more resistance due to collision with the Si atoms in the base and thus it will flow along the base junction increasing the base current. This will decrease the collector current.
