Rotation of earth effects formation of cyclonic storm by a force known as coriolis force. Because of this force cyclones are formed anticlockwise in the northern hemisphere whereas they are formed clockwise at the southern hemisphere. While large mountains and mountain ranges stand as obstacle to wind.
