How does the slope effect the climate or the natural vegetation of a place?

There is a close relationship between height of land and the character of vegetation. With the change in height, the climate changes and that changes natural vegetation. It also depends on factors like slope and thickness of soil. Gradient of the slope decides the photoperiod.The variation in duration of sunlight at different places is due to differences in latitude, altitude, season and duration of the day. Due to longer duration of sunlight, trees grow faster in summer.
