how is a iron needle magnetised by a bar magnet ? answer this question with steps !

1. To magnetize a steel needle we rub the needle with a magnet.

2. Now when the needle is brought near the magnet and rubbed, the magnetic field inside the needle too increases but as the needle is moved away from magnet the filed inside will decrease.

3. But needle being made of a ferromagnetic substance i.e. steel , the needle retains a part of the field as residue inside it.

4. When the needle is subjected to the magnetic field repeatedly, every time a small residual field is retained into it, until it becomes a magnet itself.
