How is an egg cell different from an egg formed after fertilisation in some animals?

Egg cell which is also called as Ova is a haploid gamete cell where as egg that is formed after fertilisation in animals like reptiles and birds is a diploid zygote cell.

The egg cells fuses with the sperm and forms diploid zygote cell.
