Question

How is blood a "Hetrogeneous Mixture" not a "Homogeneous Mixture?"

Open in App
Solution

Blood is a heterogeneous mixture as it consists of plasma, platelets, white blood cells and red blood cells. The size of these particles in this mixture is so small that they cannot be seen individually with naked eyes, and seems to be distributed uniformly throughout the mixture. The particles even do not settle down when the mixture is left undisturbed. But by the process of Apheresis (which spins the blood) can separate blood into its component parts which easily illustrates its heterogeneous nature.
