Question

how is burning of coal an exo thermic reaction?

Open in App
Solution

We know that exothermic reactions are those reactions in which heat is given out along with the products. Now when coal is burnt, heat is evolved in the process which is more than the heat supplied to the reactants. Thus, there is overall evolution of heat in the reaction, and so it is exothermic.
