Question

how is natural gas extracted ? and from where it is extracted?

Open in App
Solution

Natural gas is found along with petroleum. For the extraction of natural gas, holes are drilled in the petroleum deposits and these are then covered with a metal casing. A collection pump is installed above the metal casing to collect the gas. From here, the gas is carried to a collection point, where pipes from nearby holes also bring the unprocessed gas. The gas is then processed to remove water. From the collection point, the gas is transported to refinery, where it is subjected to further chemical treatment and processing.
