Due to various factors like boom in employment, communication, distribution of goods, centralized administration, and urban living, India has seen a restructuring of status hierarchies.This provides an escape from the ties of membership in rural based communities. The criteria for determining occupations in India are a person's skill and quality of performance rather than place of birth or caste nowadays. Individuals are finding new occupations with the opportunity for upward mobility. The mobility of the people in the occupational structure is actually responsible for giving them a better income , living standard etc.
