Jacobins got power in the following manner:
a. Jacobin club mainly comprised of shopkeepers, artisans, watch-makers, printers,daily wage workers who were really effected by grave economic crisis.
b. Their clothing which consisted of long striped trousers set them apart from the nobility section, which was their method of proclaiming end of privileges and power wielded by the nobility.
c. Hit by shortage of food supplies, high prices in 1792 they stormed the Palace of Tuileries, held the king hostage.
d. The Assembly later voted for the imprisonment of the royal family and elected a new assembly called elections.
e. The Assembly also extended political right to vote to all men above the age 21.
