Question

How our solar system is formed?

Open in App
Solution

Scientists believe that the solar system was formed when a cloud of gas and dust in space was disturbed, by the explosion called Big-bang theory. According to this theory all the mass in the universe was concentrated at one place, which exploded to give birth to all the stars, planets and other celestial bodies. This theory says that

  • Large clouds of gases and dust called solar nebula existed and gravitational collapse of these clouds gave birth to stars. Inside stars various elements starting with Helium began to form.
  • Galaxies began to form and galaxies are receding away because of expansion.
  • One of the stars after a lot of time after the big bang exploded and this generated instability in the nebula which resulted in the formation of our sun.
  • The outer disk of gas around sun known as proto-planetary disk began to collapse again to form planets.
