Pesticides can have a multifold effect on the environment. The pesticides sprayed in the air can cause air pollution. Some pesticides can remain in soil for very long and adversely effect the environment. From the soil these chemicals can erode and reach the water bodies thus contaminating water and affecting aquatic life. pesticides may accumulate in the food chain and can result in biomagnification. Some pests also develop resistance against pesticides.
