Question

how to calculate the magnitude of an electric field which can just balance a eutron of mass 3.2*10^-27kg?

Open in App
Solution

If you wish to balance it against the gravitational force then equate the gravitational force acting on it with the electrostatic force.

ie, qE = mg

E = mg/q

= (3.2x10-27x10)/(1.6x10-19)

= 51.2x10-46N/C
