how to confirm the presence of tannic acid in a given food sample?

It is difficult to test for compounds in given food sample. As food sample contain different compounds which may interfere in the chemical tests. However specific characteristics can confirm presence of acid but in pure sample.
Tannic acid:
1) A dilute solution of tannic acid produces blackish-blue colour with ferric chloride which becomes green on addition of dilute sulphuric acid.
2) It produces greenish blue colour precipitate with barium hydroxide solution.

These tests are not included in school level syllabus.
