Fossil fuels :
Fossil fuel like coal, petroleum are non - renewable sources of energy. Hence, there is need to conserve fossil fuels for future generation.
Burning of fossil fuels causes air pollution as oxides of carbon, nitrogen and sulphur are produced on burning them. These acidic oxides leads to acid rain which put adverse effects on soil and water bodies.
Thermal power plants :
Thermal power plants uses coal to generate steam which in turn is used to drive the steam turbine and hence produces electricity. The burning of coal in large amount produces air pollution.
Instead of using traditional methods like thermal power plants to generate electricity, we should use hydro power plants which gives no adverse effects on the atmosphere.
