Question

how we prevent floods ?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

Trees prevent sediment runoff, because the roots of the trees absorb water from the soil. This makes the soil dry. The dry soil is able to store more rainwater. In absence of trees the soil is not able to hold large amount of water and the water runs off in the rivers. This causes the rivers fill more quickly they are much more prone to floods.

Therefore to prevent flood, deforestation should be avoided. Infact, we should plant more and more trees.

Hope this answers your question,

Cheers !!
