Question

I accept that freezing of water if done in a closed environment it may be corrosive but when water got opening to enter in the crack of rock then it may also get space for its increased volume which will not cause any corrosion.

The water entering through the cracks in rocks reach various sites in the rock and fill the empty or porous places in the rock. Now, when this water freezes, it expands but the volume of rock is fixed as it is a hard mass.This expansion of develops more cracks and thus disintegration of the rock.
