i learnt that there are 25000 genes in a cell in which some are expressed. i also learnt that cells get divided then after division there will be 12500 genes in one cell then can we say that there is 25000 genes in our cell?

Humans have 46 paired chromosomes and the estimated genes are 25,000 – 30,000.

Chromosomes come in pair from parents and two copies of each gene in the cell. The actions of some of these genes appear to be dominant over others. Every character has two genes and one gene dominant over the other and the dominant character will be visible.
