$A set X is a subset of another set Y if every element of set X is also an element of Y . (i) Let an element x belongs to the set A \cup B \Rightarrow x \in A \cup B \Rightarrow x \in A or x \in B \Rightarrow x \in A \Rightarrow A \subset A \cup B$
