If each sperm contains 23 chromosomes and ech egg containd 23 chromosomes so there are thousands of eggs and millions of sperms so we must have may million chromosomes Isn't it?

Well, Its not like that. Each human cell has 23 pairs of chromosomes but the number is reduced at the time of cell division.After the meiotic division during gamete formation the number of chromosomes is reduced to half again gets double after fertilization of gametes. In this way chromosome number is maintained.

Each cell has a constant chromosome number we should not count the chromosome present in each cell and add them.But yes there are many genes in the human body and many base pairs .
