If parasatic plants obtains nutrients from the host plant, then how the host plant obtains nutrients?

Host plants obtain nutrients through the process of photosynthesis. But parasitic plants take these nutrients by growing on host plants. This will affect the growth and development of host plant and most of the time, host plant dies due to lack of nutrition.
