If penicillin is given to a patient suffering from jaundice it does not have any effect on infection. Why?

Jaundice is known to be caused by an unknown pathogenic bacteria which seems o be gram negative. On the other hand penicillin is active against bacteria which are gram positive. It interferes with the cell wall formation in such bacteria. Thus penicillin is inactive against bacteria causing jaundice.
