Question

If there is friction everywhere , then why does an object fall to the ground due to gravity? Why does friction not oppose gravity and not allow it to fall?

If gravity is the only force acting on an object, then we find the object will accelerate at a rate of 9.8 m/s2 down toward the center of the Earth. But due to the presence of friction force and air resistance its speed slows down.
