Question

if two vectors are parallel to each other and to x axis and both are moving towards negative x axis ,will they be called positive vectors?

Solution

The sign of a vector indicates the direction of the vector.

A positive vector would indicate that 'it' is heading in a positive direction and a negative vector would be one heading in the opposite direction of that of the 'positive'.

Note that the positive direction is arbitrary and positive and negative will only apply when there is something to 'compare' with such as another vector or a set of axes.

Therefore, for the given question, if we consider the negative X - axis as the positive direction, then the given vectors are positive.
