Question

If we go up a building's top floor, most probably 5th floor we feel hot. But when we climb a mountain we feel cold. Mt. Kilimanjaro which is at Africa near the equator but still too cold. The Mesosphere of the atmosphere is so cold while the Thermosphere layer is so hot. If altitude increases it should be too cold but why in the 5thfloor and at Thermosphere we feel hot. And if it is that because of coming close to the sun why the high mountains and Mesosphere are too cold.

Solution

In the mountains the sun light fall on slant height that means heat per unit area become less and we feel cold.As well as the density of molecule become less as we go upwards hence heat absorb by particles is less.
