Question

In a nucleus,the number of RNA nucleoside triphosphates is 10 times more than the number of DNA nucleosides triphosphates,still onlyDNA nucleotides are added during DNA replication and not RNA nucleotides.Why?

Solution

Although the number of RNA nucleotides is very high in nucleus but, we know that during replication, enzyme DNA Polymerase adds nucleotides to the new complimentary strand and this enzyme recognizes only DNA nucleotides hence RNA nucleotides are not added.
