Question

IN ANAEROBIC RESPIRATION WHY ONLY 2ATP IS PRODUCED ?

Open in App
Solution

In anaerobic respiration processes like Krebs cycle and oxidative phosphorylation does not occur so the yield of ATP is low. Only glycolysis occurs in anaerobic respiration and in glycolysis there is a net gain of only 2 ATP. So the yield in anaerobic respiration is 2 ATP.
