In arteries, why do the blood move under high pressure? Why can't they move in low pressure?

Arteries carry blood away from the heart. The pumping action of heart results in the high pressure of blood in arteries.
Also, they have to transport blood to whole body and to large distances, so in order to transport blood to each and every organ blood is pumped under high pressure in arteries.
