Question

In charging by induction, when the conductor AB is connected to the earth, why only the positive charges induced will disappear and not the negative charges induced as well?

Generally we take earth at Zero potential.
We know Charge always move from higher potential to lower potential.
Since positive charge is at higher potential then earth,charge move towards the earth and get disappeared while negative charge is at lower potential than earth, No charge transfer occurs and negative charge do not disappear.
