Question

In order to pevent corrosion why are metals coated with more reactive metals and not with less reactive metals. More reactive metals will react more with gases in the air and corrode more. Example - Iron is coated with Zinc.

The more reactive metals will react with the gases, moisture etc. themselves but will protect the precious metal from corrosion.
